University Library

 

The Library is open six days a week during term time. It also has a special short loan collection of key books so that all students have access to core materials. There is also an enquiry service and a photocopying facility. The Library’s web-based on-line catalogue allows you to search by author, title or keyword, while a wide range of databases available via the web enables you to find material published worldwide. Both the on-line catalogue and the web-based datasets will be available for use throughout the University’s computer network.

Online Public Access Catalogue

Library Catalogue which is known as OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue). It will pop up when you enter into your computer account. You can use OPAC to search for journals and books held in the Library. For advanced use of this facility please contact the Library Help Desk.

WebOPAC (web-based version of OPAC) permits to access Library Catalogue from any PC inside the University. The Information Guide for LRC Users contains more detailed information about Online Public Access Catalogue and other services.

Westlaw is one of the primary online legal research services for lawyers and legal professionals worldwide.West introduced  WestlawNext to the WIUT from January 2016. The main advances are that a user can start a search without first selecting a database, which is helpful because WestLaw has over 40,000 databases.

The primary aim of DOAB is to increase discoverability of Open Access books. Academic publishers are invited to provide metadata of their Open Access books to DOAB. Aggregators can integrate the records in their commercial services and libraries can integrate the directory into their online catalogues, helping scholars and students to discover the books. The directory will be open to all publishers who publish academic, peer reviewed books in Open Access and should contain as many books as possible, provided that these publications are in Open Access and meet academic standards.
