The impact of remittances on the nutritional inequality: dietary diversity in Uzbekistan
Using JSMS Uzbekistan Survey by World Bank and GIZ, we try to find whether receipt of remittances has an impact on nutritional status of left behind people. For that, we analyze their types of consumed products and assess their dietary scores. Instrumental variables approach results suggest that remittances have positive impact on the quality of diet in recipient households. This finding is consistent with available literature of the field.
